On Dec. 18 the Garden City Merchants Group, a committee of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce, announced the winners of the raffle prizes donated by eight Garden City merchant participants in the chamber's newly formed Merchants Group.

Entry forms for the prizes were available in the establishments of 31 merchants who participated in the Merchant Group's recent efforts to promote shopping in Garden City.

The drawing took place at the Coquette Shop with the King and Queen of last October's Homecoming Day festivities, Garden City High School seniors Emily Menges and Joe Wolf pulling the winners' names.

Out-of-town publications touted the amenities of shopping and doing business in Garden City, and ads in the local press urged residents to shop and dine in Garden City. The Merchants Committee also established a Website, www.GardenCityShopping.com. This unprecedented marketing effort will remain active in the New Year.
