Editor's Notebook: Patch Celebrates its 100th Site Launch

Now serving nine states and still going strong.

Today, Patch proudly celebrates the launch of its 100th site in Morristown, NJ. Now live in nine states, the rigorous expansion to communities all across the country continues.

Founded in February 2008 in New York City, Patch launched its first sites simultaneously in Maplewood, South Orange and Millburn-Short Hills, New Jersey a year later. 

The company was acquired in June 2009 by AOL, which has since invested $50 million in Patch. Since the first sites launched, we have collectively produced more than 55,000 articles and nearly 1 million photos.

Garden City Patch was among the first 30 sites launched in December 2009. Since then, we've strived to become a one-stop shop for all your news needs. Business spotlights, restaurant reviews, school news and government issues – we've been there for it all.
