Garden City firefighters took down a ferocious car fire Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of Lord & Taylor on Franklin Avenue.

Chief Charles Cavarra along with units 143, 146 and 148 responded to scene around 2 p.m. and found a small SUV on fire. There was significant damage to the vehicle involved and slight damage to a vehicle parked next to the involved vehicle.
