Garden City's fourth doubles team got their first victory of the season Friday, winning in a long three set match 4-6 7-5 10-6.
"I switched some of our players on fourth doubles," said Coach Crystal Boyd. "I thought we needed a change and it helped us."
Jessica Blatz and Ann Marie Donohue replaced Mallory Emmert and Lauren Singer.
All of the singles had dominant performances against their opponents. First singles Jacqueline Raynor faced an alternate in her match winning with double bagels 6-0 6-0.
Second singles Morgan Herrmann lost only one game en route to a 6-1 6-0 win and third singles Alyssa Rosello won 6-4 6-2.
The first doubles and second doubles won their matches with only third doubles losing in straight sets.
"I was happy that our fourth doubles team got their first win," said Boyd. "It bodes well for us. We need to keep up our strong play from now until the end of the season."
The girls next face George W. Hewlett at home Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
