Syracuse, N.Y. – The men's soccer team headed upstate to take on the Dolphins of Le Moyne College in a Northeast-10 Conference contest earlier this afternoon. With the score knotted at 1-1 before the half, the two teams battled through nearly 107 minutes before the Panthers came out on the short end of the scoreboard, falling in double overtime, 2-1. With the loss, Adelphi levels out at 3-3, 2-2 NE-10 while Le Moyne moves to 5-1, 3-0 NE-10.
The Brown and Gold played a goal down very early on after allowing a Le Moyne score in the sixth minute, courtesy of Ethan Gunty. However, John Sabal, credited with the Panther's only shot in the initial half, made it count as he netted the equalizer in the 35th minute after Juan Aguiar, the NE-10 Player of the Week, redirected a corner attempt from senior Nicholas Costa and found the back of the net.
The Panthers were held to just three shots all game, but placed two of them on goal while their counterparts fired off 10 over the course of 106 minutes. Freshman keeper, Sergio Reyes managed to stop two that were on goal while Le Moyne's goalie, Matthew Silva, was credited with one.
Momodou Sawaneh's header in the second was met by Silva while Alejandro Penzini's attempt late in the game was wide left. It would be the final two shots the Panthers managed to get off as the teams headed into overtime after either side was unsuccessful in breaking the 1-1 deadlock.
Le Moyne had perhaps their best opportunity to break the deadlock in the 98th minute on a header by Keleenna Onyeaka, but it missed high off of teammate Cal Filtch's corner attempt. With the second overtime underway, it took until the 106:59 mark when the host capitalized on a Jordan Hibbert yellow card. Trevor Creedon, on an assist from Anthony Scaravillo, put in the game winning goal to serve Adelphi their third loss of the season, 2-1.

"Credit to Le Moyne on today's win," stated Head Coach Carlo Acquista. "We were disappointed to say the least and not come away with a result playing away during a mid-week match. Both teams battled tremendously and it came down to a set piece goal. We need to move forward because of the quick turnaround for Saturday's Southern New Hampshire match."
