Women's Cross Country Moves Up In National Poll to #32

Garden City, N.Y. – The women's cross country team has moved up in both the Regional and National Polls according to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as announced earlier today. Additionally, the men have remained locked in to their regional ranking.
 
In their most recent race, the women put together a solid showing in the Brown Race at the Paul Short Invitational, finishing in fifth place with three Division I institutions ahead of them. They beat out nationally ranked Bloomsburg and Kutztown and finished behind formerly unranked Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
 
They made their debut on the National Rankings in week one with a #35 showing, and moved up to #34 in the second week. Now, in the most recent poll, they check in at #32. They are just one of three schools in the Northeast-10 Conference and East Region that are ranked among the nation's top-35.
 
In the East Regional Poll, they moved up one spot into second behind Stonehill, who is also ranked #14 in the country. Dropping into third is Bentley, followed by American International and UMass Lowell. The top-eight spots are occupied by schools from the NE-10 while the East Coast Conference sneaks LIU Post in the ninth position and the CACC puts Philadelphia in the ten slot.
 
In the men's regional poll, Stonehill overtook UMass Lowell for the top spot. Meanwhile, Bentley and American International hold steady at three-four with Adelphi checking in at fifth for the second straight week.
  
he Panthers will hibernate for three weeks before going up against the rest of the conference in the Northeast-10 Championships on Saturday, October 20 in Syracuse, N.Y.
