Free Workshop on Reiki for Current and Past Breast Cancer Patients

A free workshop on Reiki for current and past breast cancer patients is offered on Tuesday, April 24 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Adelphi University in Garden City.

Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique for stress reduction, relaxation and accelerated healing. Through gentle touch, Reiki moves energy through the body to promote balance and deep relaxation while enhancing the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Participants will experience a relaxing meditation followed by the opportunity to nourish body, mind and spirit through receiving Reiki yourself.

The instructor, Kathie Lipinski, RN, MSN, CH, is a licensed Usui/Karuna Reiki master teacher, a holistic nurse in private practice and a certified hypnotist. She is the author of the chapter on Reiki in Complementary and Alternative Medicine: Insights and Perspectives from Leading Practitioners.

The workshop is held at the University Center, Room 313, Adelphi University, Garden City. Pre-registration is required. Call 516-877-4325.

This event is sponsored by the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program and is supported by the LI 2 Day Walk to Fight Breast Cancer.
