Girl Scouts of Nassau County to Celebrate 100th Anniversary Gala

The date is set for the Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s 100th Anniversary Gala in celebration of Girl Scouting’s 100th birthday.

Come support an organization dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City.

“Our 100th Anniversary Gala is sure to bring community and business leaders together to honor and celebrate those that have truly embraced our mission and helped pave the way for future generations of women leaders,” said Donna  Ceravolo, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, Inc. “As we continue to celebrate our 100th Anniversary, our Gala is a way to recognize how far we’ve come and get excited for the future possibilities ahead – the sky is the limit with Girl Scouting!“

At the Gala the Girl Scouts of Nassau County will honor Deborah Schiff, North Shore LIJ Health System with the “Courage Award,” Long Island Children’s Museum with the “Confidence Award,” and Dr. George Santiago, Jr. of Briarcliffe College with the “Character Award.”

Also this year, Anna Maria Chávez, CEO of the Girl Scouts of the USA, will be a special guest at the celebration! In addition, one of the 121 girls who received the Girl Scout Gold Award this year will also speak to attendees about how the Girl Scouts of Nassau County positively affected her life. Attendees of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s 100th Anniversary Gala will also have the opportunity to win an assortment of exciting prizes.

Ms. Ceravolo adds, “We are thrilled to recognize some outstanding honorees this year and show our gratitude for all they have done and continue to do for our organization and the community at large. These honorees are examples of positive leadership and role models that exist on Long Island and have helped shape us girls for the past 100 years!”
