Student Athletes between Ages 6 to 18 Needed for Swim Across America Fundraiser on July 25

Nassau County Swim Across America is looking for participants for its fundraising event next Wednesday, July 25, at the Nassau County Aquatic Center located in Eisenhower Park from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Funds raised will be donated to the Feinstein Institute of North Shore LIJ, Mercy Medical Center, Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Fighting Chance.  A video of your participation from the event can be entered into the Long Island Sports Challenge, a contest from Bethpage Federal Credit Union and Team Up 4 Community that encourages community service among LI student athletes and will award $5,000 in sports grants.  If interested in participating, please contact Teresa Webb @ info@w20foundation.org and/or phone 631-897-2088.

Swim Across America, Inc. (SAA) is dedicated to raising money/awareness for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming-related events.  With the help of hundreds of volunteers nationwide and past and current Olympians, SAA is helping to find a cure for cancer through athleticism, community outreach and direct service.

Team Up 4 Community:  Created by retired NHL hockey player Steve Webb (who skated for the NY Islanders) through his W20 Foundation that is dedicated to promoting social responsibility and community giveback through student athletes in North America.  Team Up 4 Community has partnered with Bethpage Federal Credit Union to offer the Long Island Sports Challenge, an interactive contest that encourages community service among student athletes between the ages of 6 to 18.
