Garden City High School's Class of 2013 received diplomas Saturday during the 79th commencement ceremony, held outdoors on Warren King Field.
Salutatorian Jacqueline Seskin; Julia Maloney Scholarship winner Brendan Quinn; Superintendent Dr. Robert Feirsen; surprise guest speaker, U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer; keynote speaker, teacher Kevin O’Hagan; and valedictorian Shannon Carman all addressed the crowd.
