The Garden City
Community Church held its Americana Fair on Saturday, November 17th. Crowds
were lined up on the sidewalk before the opening to buy collectibles, antiques,
china, toys and many other things. Some items included an oil on linen painting
that was snapped up right away, as well as Coach bags and fine and vintage
jewelry. Vendors were located in the parlor with unusual products for sale.
"The Auxiliary
Board of the Garden City Community Church is very grateful for the
tremendous outpouring of support for the Americana Fair. To make the
fair a success, congregants and friends of the Church brought to the
effort their time and talents: baking pies, cooking soups, designing gift
baskets, and arranging with care donated household items and jewelry. Over 110
volunteers, ages 10 to 90, helped on Fair Day. We also are
pleased that so many people came and shopped. We are indeed, a ‘Community’
Church, in the truest sense of the word," said Robin Boyle Laisure,
President of the Auxiliary.
The Auxiliary Board
also includes Secretary, Nancy Layton-Zeims; Publicity Chairperson, Janice
Salem; and Treasurer, Martha Yasso. The recent past presidents were Linda
Gambardella and Kimberly Pauley.
