AmeriCorps Team to Speak About Hurricane Sandy Relief at Community Church

AmeriCorps workers have spent many months on Long Island helping residents recover from Hurricane Sandy. The Garden City Community Church will be featuring them with a Forum that all residents are invited to. The Sunday, March 17th talk is entitled, "AmeriCorps: Getting Things Done with Sandy Relief" and starts at 9:15 am. They will talk about their motivation for joining the team, what AmeriCorps is and what their Hurricane Sandy projects have been on Long Island.
The three AmeriCorps workers who will talk will be Andy Tisdel who is a Community Relations Specialist, an Assistant Team Leader and is one of his team’s two Media Reps. With his team, Andy has worked in Freeport and Oceanside and is currently working in the Rockaways as a member of the planning staff.
