1. A Day of Golf to Support Jamie and Paige Malone Sacred Heart Academy Scholarship Fund: Enjoy a day of golf at the Cherry Valley Club and support the Jamie and Paige Malone Sacred Heart Academy Scholarship Fund. Registration kicks off at noon; shot gun is at 1 p.m. The cost of $125 per golfer includes cart and green fee. Questions? 2. Free Visual Lecture-Panama & The Panama Canal: Mark your calendar for a free visual lecture, “Panama & The Panama Canal,” with Garden City author Bob McMillan at 2 p.m. May 12 at the Garden City Public Library. Sponsored by Friends of the Garden City Public Library. Call 516-742-8405. Seating and parking is limited and on a first-come basis. No tickets required.

3. GC Pool Applications Coming Soon: Look for your Garden City Pool application in the mail soon. This year marks the 55th season of fun in the sun!

4. Art Academy of Garden City Exhibits at Library: The Art Academy of Garden City is once again exhibiting a collection of student artwork in the Garden City Public Library’s showcases and art gallery May 1–27. Exhibits are free and open to the public during regular library hours. Call 516-742-8405.

5. Adelphi Breast Cancer Program Receives Grant: The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program has received a $10,000 grant from the Alpern Family Foundation to sponsor free breast cancer support groups. This is the seventh year that the foundation has supported the program.
