Things & Stuff Closing Its Doors in September: A visibly emotional Dean and Teresa Adams made it official Aug. 6 when they posted a huge pink sign in the storefront's window that reads, "Store Closing. Thanks For The Memories...We Bid You A Fond Farewell." The shop will close at the end of the month.
Garden City Man Charged with Boating While Intoxicated: A Garden City man was arrested and charged with boating while intoxicated Aug. 24 in Glenwood Landing, cops said. Nikolaos Katrakazos, 23, had watery and blood shot eyes, and also had slurred speech, according to police. He was arrested without incident.
Senior Center Expansion Increased by 40 Feet: The Garden City board of trustees released a statement regarding the expansion of the senior center facility on Golf Club Lane and possible use of the Garden City Casino for senior activities.
