The luncheon will be held at the Garden City Hotel.
Republican incumbent Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano will speak along with Democratic candidate Tom Suozzi, who bested Adam Haber in Tuesday's primary.
Both Mangano and Suozzi have formally accepted the chamber’s invitation to voice their views, but only the Democratic and Republican candidates will speak separately, expressing their respective views on the future of Nassau County and its impact upon the business community, according to chamber officials.
The election for county executive will take place Nov. 5.
Ed Mangano was sworn into office as county executive on Jan. 1, 2010. Prior to becoming county executive, he served the 17th district as a county legislator for seven terms.
Having served as the youngest mayor of Glen Cove from 1992-2000, Tom Suozzi served in the office of county executive from Jan. 1, 2002 through Dec. 31, 2009 and now seeks a rematch against Ed Mangano.
This season kick-off luncheon program will also include a showcase of various member businesses to begin at 11:30 a.m. and continue throughout the reception/networking period. Luncheon will be served promptly at 12:30 p.m.
Early reservations are suggested at $65 per person and may be made by calling the chamber at 746-7724. Checks made payable to the Garden City Chamber of Commerce may be mailed to the chamber at 230 Seventh St., Garden City, NY 11530. Credit cards will be accepted by telephone or fax at 746-7725.
