Brixton Road Has the Cutest Canine in Garden City

John John, a six-year-old Chinese Shar Pei, garners the most votes.

After a full week of voting the results are in: the cutest dog in Garden City resides on Brixton Road according to you, our readers.

John John is the official winner of Garden City Patch's Cutest Dog Contest. The six-year-old Chinese Shar Pei, who loves nothing more than to cuddle and sleep, garnered the most votes with 60.

According to Jacquelyn Smith, John John's owner, he also enjoys taking trips to Petco - where he always gets free treats and lots of attention - and going on walks around town.

John John is lucky enough to spend his days with his mom, nine-year-old Hollie. His father was a champion show dog. His sister, Daisy, who also once lived with him, passed away last August.

"We bred Hollie with plans to just keep one of her puppies and to find loving homes for the rest but if you've ever seen a baby Shar Pei you'll understand why we couldn't just keep one!" Smith said. "He's ... the sweetest, most well-behaved pup around!"

just reading Jane Goodall with my son for school and came across this quote of an amazing womanRead More "every individual matters, every individual has a role to play, every individual makes a difference." that is what makes our nation, our village so great everyone has an opinion whether we agree with it or not. It just saddens me to think some may not voice their opinion in the future because of the rather harsh comments which I'm sure were just meant to get a point across rather than be hurtful. Garden City residents are not afraid to get involved, to stand up for what they believe in and I am proud to live here.
