Finals-Worn Students Break Out in Song

Hofstra students belt in the library as they study for finals.

Final exams can drive a college kid crazy. But sometimes, that sleep deprivation and Red Bull create something wonderful.

Students hard at work in the Hofstra University library got a surprise study break when unconventional Christmas carolers broke out in song and dance while they passed out snacks.

As the first notes of The Tokens' "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," rang out over a speaker, more and more singers appeared in the room and began to dance around their fellow students. Confusion turned to delight on the faces of those trying to study as they dropped their pencils and began to clap and sing along.

Those leading the singalong came armed with lyric sheets and doughnuts, completing the perfect study break.

The event was caught on video by Allen Polyakov and has gone viral in the Hofstra community. It was posted to the university's Facebook page and garnered dozens of comments and hundreds of likes.

Congrats to Hofstra for giving a much-needed break to their friends during finals week!
