Five Things: Easter Weekend Edition

The Easter Bunny is making plenty of pit stops in Garden City this weekend.

Chamber of Commerce Easter Sunday Car Parade: The annual Easter festival and antique car parade, sponsored by the Garden City Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Easter Sunday. The parade will step off from Parking Field 9E between Tenth and Eleventh streets and will proceed south on Franklin Avenue to Seventh Street, west to Hilton Avenue. Easter bunnies will be on Seventh Street during the parade.

Easter Egg Hunt
: The Department of Recreation and Parks is once again sponsoring its annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday at Community Park (by the soccer field). This year three hunts will be held beginning at 10 a.m. sharp with three age divisions: Preschool to K, Grades 1 and 2 and Grades 3 to 5. (Don't forget to bring an Easter basket!) For further information, call 465-4075.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny
: The Easter Bunny will be making two stops in Garden City Saturday to have breakfast with local youngsters. The Easter Bunny will first stop by the Garden City Hotel for two seatings at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Call 877-9385 for more information ($32 per person, plus tax and 18 percent gratuity). Click here to view the menu. From there the Easter Bunny will stop by Christ Episcopal Church at 9 a.m. where the family event will feature breakfast, an Easter Egg Roll and Easter stories. Pictures with the Easter Bunny will also be available. Reservations are required as space is limited. Call 775-2626 to find out if tickets are still available ($7 for children, $14 for adults). 

The Bunny Photo Experience: Don't miss the Bunny Photo Experience at Roosevelt Field Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. in North Court. Kids will have the chance to visit with the Bunny and take home a treasured snapshot of the fun occasion. For more information about Roosevelt Field’s Easter events, visit the center’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/RooseveltField, or @RooseveltField on Twitter.
