Free Job Preparation Classes at the Cradle
Anyone seeking employment, including local veterans, are encouraged to attend.
In preparation of a private sector mega job fair at the Nassau Coliseum in November, the county is offering free job preparation classes for residents to assist with resume writing and interviewing techniques beginning Thursday at the Cradle of Aviation.
The classes are being offered Sept. 19 and 27 and Oct. 23 and 30 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Cradle. Professionals from area personnel staffing agencies will conduct these workshops. The job fair at the Coliseum is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 4.
“With more than 300 companies anticipated to register for the Private Sector Mega Job Fair and more than 10,000 job seekers expected to attend, the competition for jobs can be great," County Executive Ed Mangano said.
"I encourage everyone, including veterans, to register for one of the free job preparation workshops as this is a great opportunity to enhance your ability of becoming gainfully employed.”
Pre-registration is required by calling 227-7692 or 227-8656. The Cradle of Aviation Museum located at 1 Davis Ave. in E. Garden City.
