The Garden City Community Church announces some great fall and winter events taking place at the church. Everyone in the community is invited.
Saturday, Nov. 3rd- Americana Fair- Something for everyone at this huge annual event: collectibles, china, Silent Auction, jewelry, art, books, vendors and great gift baskets! 10am to 4pm.
Sunday, Nov. 11th- Interfaith Opportunity to Gather- Veteran's Day Organ Recital and Benefit Dinner- A program of patriotic and commemorative organ music including Buck: Variations on "The Star Spangles Banner" and Ives variations on "America." Patriotic sing-a- long. Free-will offering. Co-sponsored by Nassau, Suffolk and Queens chapters of the American Guild of Organists. Following the Recital in Gardner Hall a dinner will be served by members of the Garden City Clergy Fellowship (GCCF) who are taking an interfaith mission to the Holy Land in April 2013.  Cost of the dinner is $25. Please contact the President of the Clergy Fellowship, Rabbi Linda Henry Goodman at ishahtovah@gmail.com. Concert starts at 4pm.
Sunday, Nov. 25th- Fanfares and Flourishes- Festive music for brass and organ presented by Celebrations Brass and Frank L. Crosio, organist. Starts at 4pm. Sunday, Dec. 2nd- Advent Breakfast- Please join us in a fun Advent Breakfast to start your Christmas season in a worshipful & fun way!  Fun craft activities for the children. Suggested donation. Starts at 9 am - 10:15 am.
Sunday, Dec. 16th- Christmas Vespers and Candlelight Dinner- The two part event takes place starting at 4 pm in the Sanctuary with beautiful music presented by the GCCC choirs at the Christmas Vespers Service and culminates with the Candlelight Dinner in Gardner Hall.
Christmas Week Services- Several, to be announced.
Friday, Jan. 4th, 2013- Will Sing for Food- A musical charity event to help support Long Island's hungry and homeless. 8pm in lower level Gardner Hall.
The Garden City Community Church is located at the corner of Stewart Avenue and Whitehall Boulevard. It is an “Open & Affirming” congregation of the United Church of Christ (Protestant), so no matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey all are welcome. On Sundays the GCCC has 8:30 am Communion in the Chapel and 10:30 am worship in the Sanctuary. The Forum is held at 9:15am. Church Sunday School is held during the regular service, with babysitting in the Crib Room for children under 2 years old, equipped with silent pagers for parents.
