Homebound patron Dolores Costello welcomes the visit of the “Library to Your Door” volunteer coordinators Erin and Meghan Higgins.
Homebound patron Dolores Costello welcomes the visit of the “Library to Your Door” volunteer coordinators Erin and Meghan Higgins.
The Garden City Public Library offers free delivery of books to registered library cardholders who are homebound.

The “Library to your Door” program is a free, personalized delivery service of library materials to patrons confined to their homes due to physical disability or illness. The library will deliver and pick up items on a bi-weekly, or monthly basis.

Patrons may borrow both regular and large type books, fiction and non-fiction, up to 10 books at a time. Specific books can be requested by title or a reference librarian can assist in choosing books based on preferences.

No AV materials, new books or best sellers may be borrowed. There are no overdue fines on materials loaned to the homebound.

For more information, call Reference Librarian Laura Flanagan at 742-8405, ext. 239.
