The top five things you need to know June 1:

1. Summer Programs for Young Adults: Information about the numerous summer programs for Young Adults (YAs) at the Garden City Public Library will be posted on Garden City Patch in the coming weeks. Flyers are now available in the YA Room and on the library's website. Reminder: All teens and ‘tweens must have their own library card to register for programs.

2. Girls Lax Playing For County Class B Championship: The Garden City girls lacrosse team is facing rival Manhasset in the Nassau County Class B championship at 3 p.m. at Hofstra.

3. Possible Measles Exposure in GC: The Nassau County Department of Health announced May 27 that a case of measles was confirmed in a Nassau County adult who visited several places in Garden City. In its efforts to prevent the spread of illness, the department is advising individuals who may have been exposed and who have symptoms consistent with measles to call their health care providers or emergency rooms before going for care so that others are not exposed to the illness. Click here to read the full story.
