March 23: School Budget Meeting, Sponsorship Opportunities and Cupcakes for Kids

Here's the top five things you need to know March 23:

1. Rescheduled School Budget Work Session: The March 15 Board of Education  budget work session has been rescheduled to today at 8:15 p.m. at the high school. Trustees will present final adjustments and refinements to the superintendent’s proposal for the 2011-2012 budget.

2. County Executive Mangano to Speak to GC Seniors: The county executive is visiting with seniors at Cluett Hall to speak on topics pertinent to them as well as other information relating to Nassau. All Garden City seniors are welcome at 12:30 p.m.

3. Cupcakes For Kids Fundraiser: Join Adelphi Circle K and the staff of The Cupcake Corner for “Cupcakes For Kids,” a fundraiser at The Cupcake Corner Too! located at 62 New Hyde Park Road. From 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. enjoy coffee, tea and special Adelphi Circle K themed cupcakes for a $10 donation. All proceeds benefit the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center at North Shore University Hospital and the NYS Safe Kids Coalition.

4. High School PTA Meeting: The Garden City High School PTA meets in the high school library at 9:15 a.m. for a Science Department showcase. All parents are encouraged to attend.

5. Recreation Department Seeks Sponsorships: Sponsorship opportunities are available for various Recreation Department special events and programs like the annual Easter egg hunt and the summer concert series on the Village Green.
