Memorial Day 2011 in Garden City

Parade steps off at 10 a.m.

Under the direction of the William Bradford Turner Post - American Legion, Garden City's annual Memorial Day observance will commence with the interdenominational memorial church services at 9 a.m. at the Cathedral of The Incarnation.

This year's Memorial Day program is being moved from Garden City Middle School to the area by the reviewing stand on Seventh Street opposite the Garden City Hotel, at the new and refurbished war memorial.

The traditional Memorial Day parade will step off promptly at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Stewart and Cherry Valley avenues. It will proceed north on Cherry Valley Avenue to Tenth Street, east on Tenth to Franklin Avenue, south on Franklin to Seventh Street, west on Seventh Street past the reviewing stand where official ceremonies will take place.
