2. Toll-Free Hotline for Airplane Noise Complaints: Rep. Carolyn McCarthy wrote to federal and state authorities asking them to create a joint toll-free hotline they would use to address airplane noise heard by Nassau County residents. Read more here.

3. Union Rally: A union rally scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the county legislative building at 1550 Franklin Avenue will cause road closures in Garden City. Nassau County will be restricting all parking on Fourteenth and Fifteenth streets between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. These streets will be closed during the event. In addition, there will be partial road closures on Franklin Ave. during the event.

4. Vintage Exhibit: The Garden City Public Library’s October showcase display features a collection of vintage handbags and accessories from enthusiast Ellen F. Broder. Read more about Broder and see pictures from the collection today at 11:30 a.m.
