Oct. 28-30: Halloween Edition

Today's Halloween edition includes five bonus events all related to Halloween. Here are the top 5+ things you need to know Oct. 28-30:

1. Annual Andy Club Halloween Party: The Andy Club will host its annual Halloween party in the Garden City High School gym Friday between 4-6 p.m. Activities include games, prizes, T-shirts and a bake sale. There is a $10 suggested donation and all proceeds benefit The Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop-University Hospital.

2. Red Cross Halloween Safety Party: To help children learn about safety, the Long Island Red Cross will open its doors in Mineola for a Halloween Safety Party at 6 p.m. Saturday. Children between the ages of 3 and 11 are invited and encouraged to wear their costume. (They must be non-violent with no weapons, nor full-face masks. Admission is free but attendees must register in advance. Call 516-747-3500, ext. 218.

3. Spooky Fest: A Halloween Family Adventure: Ghosts and ghouls come out to play at Tanglewood Preserve in Rockville Centre Friday, Saturday and Sunday when The Center for Science Teaching and Learning (CSTL) presents the third annual Spooky Fest between 6:30-9:30 p.m. Admission for Spooky Fest is $10 for children and $5 for adults; which includes both walks Halloween craft activities, the Amazing Animals Exhibit and the Mystic Den. 4. The Great Pumpkin Patch: Get your pumpkins while they last at the Unitarian Universalist Church's annual Pumpkin Patch on the corner of Nassau Blvd. and Stewart Ave. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Oct. 31.

5. Spooky Walk: Dare to take a spooky walk with ghosts, ghouls and goblins at Clark Botanic Garden (located at 193 I U Willets Road in Albertson) on Friday and Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is $5. Enjoy a DJ and and wear your costume. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

6. Children’s Halloween Costume Breakfast: On Saturday, between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., The Garden City Hotel's Posh Ultra Lounge will be transformed into a spook-tacular playhouse. Children may enjoy breakfast like scary ghost pancakes, spider punch, pumpkin bread, spookily inspired cupcakes and traditional breakfast offerings in a buffet-style and pumpkin decorating. The cost is $29.95 plus tax and free for those under 2. Reservations are encouraged. Call 516-877-9385 or visit www.gchevents.com.

7. LICM's 10th Annual Ghostly Gala: The Long Island Children’s Museum (LICM) is gearing up for its 10th annual Ghostly Gala Saturday at 6 p.m. Adults and children alike are encouraged to visit in their most creative costume. Help decorate your own treat bag to go trick-or-treating in the museum’s galleries, get your face painted or make spooky craft projects. LICM also welcomes Rob Mies from the Organization for Bat Conservation who will introduce visitors to bats from around the world. Theater tickets are required for the bat show and are priced at $4 ($3 for LICM members). Live theater performances are scheduled for 6:15, 7, 7:45 and 8:30 p.m. Advanced ticketing is required. Tickets for the Ghostly Gala are $9 per person ($7 for LICM members). Call 516-224-5802 for more information. No Ghostly Gala tickets will be sold on Saturday so be sure to call today.

8. Halloween Costume Breakfast: Enjoy a Halloween costume breakfast Sunday between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. at the The Cupcake Corner. Children are encouraged to wear their costumes while enjoying pumpkin and chocolate chip waffles, quiche, pumpkin, banana walnut and lemon poppy loaves, hot cinnamon spice tea and apple cider, pumpkin lattes and more. A free Halloween-themed craft and goody bag will be provided for each child. Reservations are required. Call 516-328-2253.

9. Halloween Monster Brunch at The Garden City Hotel: With Sunday seatings starting at noon, The Garden City Hotel's Halloween Monster Brunch is family fun for all in a Halloween-decorated REIN. On the menu will be something for everyone. The cost is $64 plus tax and gratuity per adult; and half-price, $32, for children under 12. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling 516-877-9385 or visiting www.gchevents.com for further information.

10. Halloween Blowout: Once Upon a Dish is offering a spooky, ghostly Halloween blowout Saturday at 10 a.m. If you or your child come in a costume and you will get your paint time for half price!

Please note Saturday's fall harvest fair at New Hyde Park Road and Chester Avenue has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5 due to the expected inclement weather this Saturday, Oct. 29.
