Patch Poll: Village Dog Park

Should Garden City have one?

Comments in our prompted today's Patch Poll: Should Garden City establish a dog park for residents only?

Patch reader admits she doesn't have the answer but does believe a park in town is needed. "I know so many people in town that would utilize one," she said.

Kevin Ocker, commissioner of recreational and cultural affairs, said the village currently has no plans for a dog park.

"If several residents requested this it would be taken under consideration by the board of Commissioners of Cultural and Recreational Affairs," he told Patch Monday.

To date, the village has issued 290 dog licenses since the municipality took over the task on Jan. 1, according to village clerk Brian Ridgway.
