Random Acts of Kindness Fundraiser for Newtown, CT

Families are coming together at the Garden City Hotel Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. and participating in the 26 Random Acts of Kindness movement that Ann Curry of NBC News started to honor the lives of the 26 children and adults lost in the Newtown, CT tragedy.

Party Pets will provide an exciting hands-on experience where kids will learn about some fascinating creatures! Brian McGovern will be performing magic tricks and kids can take goofy pictures in a photo booth.

Attendees can bring their Random Acts of Kindness list to be collected and featured in a scrapbook.

Guests can bid on some amazing raffle and silent auction items such as sports memorabilia from Drew Brees, Deion Sanders, Josh Smith, the NY Yankees, the Houston Texans and Martin Prado from the Atlanta Braves. Other items include salon certificates, restaurant certificates, toy baskets, a personal trainer and nutrition package and more.

The suggested donation is $15 per adult and $10 per child; 100 percent of ALL proceeds will be split among three organizations that are supporting the Sandy Hook families.

While there are no words of sorrow, no charitable acts and no amount of money that can alleviate the pain of the families in Sandy Hook, people can express compassion and solidarity as a community.

To attend, volunteer or donate items simply contact Stacey Escoffery at  sescoffery@hotmail.com or Melissa Bedard at rxstar22@aol.com. Space is limited and RSVP is a must so please contact Stacey or Melissa to reserve a place for your family today.
