Sponsor a Family for Christmas

St. Joseph’s Sponsor A Family For Christmas 2012– Sign-up Now!!   Christmas is just around the corner and the Sponsor Committee needs your help to sponsor more than 200 families from two neighboring parishes, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary in Roosevelt and Our Lady of Loretto in Hempstead.  There are two options available with the Christmas program.  The first option is to provide a complete holiday dinner with all of the trimmings for a family AND gifts for the children within that family.  The second option is to provide just a complete holiday dinner for a family of six.  This is a wonderful opportunity to share your blessings AND we welcome and encourage individual participation from all residents, community organizations and corporate entities.  Sponsorship forms are available at the church entrances and in the bulletin OR you may sign-up over the phone by calling Lita Reilly at 248-5880 or Pat DiMattia at 294-9316.  The deadline to sign-up is Monday, December 3rd  and the delivery date is Saturday morning, December 15th at the St. Joseph’s School parking lot between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.   If you would like to be a driver on delivery day, call Evelyn Fasano at 747-3235.  You would be responsible for driving carloads of dinners & gifts OR dinners only during the course of the morning to one of the aforementioned parishes.  Volunteers for this aspect of the program are so important and critical to its ultimate success.  If you can help out, please let us know. The response to this year’s Sponsor Program for Thanksgiving was tremendous and we thank all participants, particularly given the loss of power and destruction caused by Super Storm Sandy.  Also, we recognize that the holidays are a very busy time for most of us but helping and giving to others is really the spirit of Christmas.  Our immediate concern is obtaining enough sponsors for the many families with children, so please call as soon as possible.  We’ll answer your questions and complete the paperwork over the phone
