Workshop: Internet Safety and Your Kids

Anne Donnelly, a prosecutor with the DA's office, will lead the discussion Oct. 10 at the Garden City Public Library.

A workshop at the Garden City Public Library Oct. 10 will focus on Internet use amongst kids and young adults and how to keep them safe from predators, cyber bullying and more.

The workshop, which begins at 7 p.m., will be led by Anne Donnelly, a prosecutor with the Nassau County District Attorney's office.

Donnelly, who serves as deputy chief of the Rackets Bureau and chief of the Technology Crimes Unit, will discuss ways to speak to your children about Internet safety, cyber-bullying, Internet predators, "sex-ting" and protecting privacy. Donnelly intends to help parents recognize those dangers and risky behavior and suggest ways to effectively talk to kids and young adults about being safe while online.

This program is open to all; no registration is required. For more info, contact Reference Librarian Laura Flanagan at 742-8405 or visit www.gardencitypl.org.
