NCC Presents "Spring Awakening

Nassau Community College’s Department of Theatre and Dance will present the musical “Spring Awakening” on March 15 through 18 and March 21 through 26 at the Mainstage Theatre. Performances will be at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. on Sundays.

According to a release from the school:

“Spring Awakening, which is rated R, celebrates the unforgettable journey from youth to adulthood with a power, poignancy and passion that viewers will never forget. Adapted from Frank Wedekind's 1891 expressionist play about the trials, tears and exhilaration of the teen years, the play explores the tortured inner lives of a handful of adolescents in 19th-century Germany with a rock musical score. "Spring Awakening" has been hailed as the best musical of the year by several major publications. It won eight Tony awards in 2007, including that for Best Musical.
