A Box Full of Surprises at the UPS Store

Garden City's shipping, packaging and printing headquarters gets a new look.

The Garden City UPS Store located at 734 Franklin Avenue has taken on a new image. Previously colored red and white, Garden City's shipping, packaging and printing headquarters has now gone black and tan.

One of the first Mailbox Etc. on Long Island, the UPS Store, as it is now known, opened in 1988 and throughout its 20 years of business has a new owner by the name of Mary Seifert.

In addition to owning the Garden City store, Seifert also owns the UPS Store in Franklin Square, which opened in 2005. Patrons are treated with the best customer service that made Seifert's first store such a success.

Seifert says she "wanted to expand her business and Garden City became an opportunity." When Seifert bought the UPS Store in the heart of Garden City's downtown, she renovated the building to make it a comfortable and welcoming place for her customers.

Staying true to the UPS store motto, "We do more than shipping," the Garden City store not only offers packaging and shipping but can print banners, posters, blueprints and work presentations and receive packages on a customer's behalf. And with over 700 in the store, customers can also rent mailboxes for business or personal use.

Seifert said she added more services to make it "convenient for current and new customers," many of which are now busy making and printing out banners for local graduation parties.

Seifert is an active businesswoman in the community. She serves as a member of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce (and is current president of the Franklin Square Chamber of Commerce). In April, the Garden City UPS Store participated in the GC For a Cure walk/run fundraiser at Garden City High School, donating banners for event day.

"I believe if you take care of the community, the community will take care of you," Seifert said.

Garden City UPS Store staffers Christina Cruz (store manager), Jessica Walsh, Marco Delpriore and Jennifer Rigges are ready to assist customers with all their packaging, shipping and printing needs. "I welcome anyone who wants to take a look around the store," Seifert said.
