A Very Delicious Gift

Patch spotlights Edible Arrangements on Seventh Street.

For the next special occasion in your family, forget about flowers. Instead, get a unique and delicious gift that the recipient will cherish. At Edible Arrangements, located at 112 Seventh Street in the heart of Garden City, workers are busy creating masterpieces of beautiful fresh fruit arrangements for birthdays, anniversaries, new babies and many more precious moments.

Edible Arrangements in Garden City opened in November 2005 and is owned by Frank D'Elia. All the arrangements are crafted to look like edible floral bouquets.

"I grew up in the restaurant business and originally I did not want to go into that type of business, but while in 'corporate America' I realized I wanted to own my own business. The opportunity of opening an Edible Arrangements rouse and I took advantage of it," D'Elia said.

"Finding the location on Seventh Street happened by accident. I was driving down the street to see the Garden City Hotel and noticed that there was space for rent. We looked at the building and decided we liked this space better than another choice."

One of the popular selling arrangements is the Delicious Party, which has an array of fruits including strawberries, pineapples, grapes, honeydew and cantaloupe.

Many customers chose to have some of the fruit dipped in chocolate and added to the bouquet. The arrangements get delivered in stylish vases to complement and enhance all occasions. They have a NASCAR vase that has the number of your favorite driver and is shaped like a race car.

With the summer season here, popular seasonal fruits are available, which include watermelon, mango and kiwi. These are only available now through Labor Day.

"We are one of the top performing Edible Arrangements in New York," D'Elia said.

All the locations deliver the beautiful arrangements. The Garden City store delivers as far east as Westbury or East Meadow and as far west as Floral Park. Every week on the Edible Arrangements' website there are special offers. To find out this week's specials click here.
