Vacant in Garden City: H.L. Gross Jewelers Moving Across the Street

Jewelry store moving into former diSalvo Interiors building on Franklin Avenue.

The home of H.L. Gross & Bro. Jewelers on Franklin Avenue will soon be vacant as the family-owned business moves into the former diSalvo Interiors space across the street. John Wilton, chair of the Merchants, Professionals & Retailers group, confirmed a lease was signed and the store is moving to the west side of Franklin. No known tenant at this time has been named to fill the void on the east side. diSalvo Interiors relocated to Oyster Bay in 2009. A tenant occupies the top floor but the ground floor, where the design center once did business, has been vacant for nearly three years. H.L. Gross & Bro. Jewelers, a five-generation, family-owned business, moved to Garden City in 1969. What would you like to see replace H.L. Gross? Let us know in the comments section below.
