Vacant in Garden City: Upper Crust Café Closes Its Doors

Luncheonette turned café called Franklin Avenue home for more than 25 years.

Upper Crust Café is the latest Garden City business to fall victim of this still ailing economy.

The luncheonette turned café, which was featured in Burrous' Bites on Pix 11 News, called Franklin Avenue home for more than two decades, treating diners to breakfast, lunch and more recently dinner.

Ashley and Nicholas Lucchesi, chef, were the cafe's newest owners. Nicholas made everything from scratch, including lunch must-have “The Day After,” a meal of roasted fresh turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy and mayo.
