CAFE ABLAZE Spring Blend: Red Words Rock & Reason 4:13 Praise

On March 22, CAFE ABLAZE, Lutheran Church of the Resurrection’s Christian Coffeehouse, will host red words rock band and praise and worship duo, Reason 4:13. All are invited to savor what will be percolating over the three hours after doors open at 7 p.m.

Founders Paul Ammendola and Mark Phillips named red words after the spoken words of Christ highlighted in red in some Bibles. Ammendola sings lead vocals and plays keyboard. Phillips plays lead guitar and sings. Also in the Long Island band are guitarist and vocalist Michael Perrone, Jaime Moore on bass guitar, and John Foote on drums. The band’s lyrics focus on God’s love.

Appearing onstage as well is Long Island duo, Reason 4:13, consisting of Tom Golly and Debra Soto. Drawing inspiration from the Scripture in Philippians 4:13, part of The Epistle of Paul to the Philippians, they sing popular classic hymns and contemporary Christian songs.

Consider joining emcee Pastor Jeff Browning and the many volunteers who run beautifully decorated CAFE ABLAZE the evening of March 22. The atmosphere is friendly; singles, couples, groups of friends, and families with children are welcome. Seating is at candlelit tables just below the stage and a generous selection of self-service coffees, teas, and desserts is available on tables just outside the café kitchen. As lights dim, the audience is treated to a concert of contemporary Christian music. Videos of the talent, as available, may be viewed at www.resgc.org/cafe-ablaze. Intermission offers still more to enjoy with ice cream and door prize drawings for Christian-themed gifts.

Reservations are suggested and can be made through Lori at cafeablaze@resgc.org. Tickets, $10 each, are sold at the door. CAFE ABLAZE is free for children age 12 and under if accompanied by an adult. A separate “freewill” offering is collected for the talent.
