Cathy Rose And Red Words Band To Sweeten CAFE ABLAZE

CAFÉ ABLAZE Christian Coffeehouse, located inside facilities of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Garden City, NY, is brewing up a spring concert the evening of Saturday, March 23. All are invited to savor what will be percolating over the three hours after doors open at 7 p.m.

Onstage will be Christian band, RED WORDS, whose name comes from the spoken words of Christ highlighted in red in many Bibles. This rock band of five began just last summer but their sound is receiving much acclaim. Preceding them to stir up the cafe will be solo Christian folk and rock singer, CATHY ROSE. For more on the talent, visit and consider bookmarking the coffeehouse webpage, www.resgc.org/cafe-ablaze.

Consider joining Emcee Pastor Jeff Browning of Resurrection and the many volunteers who make CAFÉ ABLAZE possible for this festive occasion. Tickets (cash only) will be sold that evening at the door on the Emmet Place side of the church having the lighted neon “CAFÉ ABLAZE” sign outside.

Here’s a glimpse of what to expect. As guests arrive (singles, couples, groups of friends, and families), they are handed a Program and ushered into an air-quality controlled auditorium that has been transformed into a beautifully decorated “café.” Seating is at numbered candle-lit tables set with flower vases, candies, and baskets of popcorn. Before settling in, everyone is invited to partake of the generous selection of self-service offerings available on tables just outside the café kitchen. These include specialty coffees and teas, scrumptious desserts, a healthy fruit salad, cheese and crackers, and bottled water. As lights dim at 7:30 p.m., the audience is treated to a concert of contemporary Christian music on a professionally-lit stage that includes two forty-five minute performances. Intermission, at 8:15 p.m., offers still more to enjoy with ice cream and three door prize drawings for Christian-themed gifts. The evening ends at 10:00 p.m.

With all that can be brewing on select Saturday nights at CAFÉ ABLAZE and now for the spring concert, why not plan on savoring a great night out at “the café”? Better yet, bring a friend and take advantage of the twofer.

Reservations are suggested and can be made through Lori at cafeablaze@resgc.org. Tickets are $10 each, or two for $15. CAFÉ ABLAZE is free for children age 12 and under if accompanied by an adult. A separate “freewill” offering is collected for the talent. Parking is available on the side streets bordering the church or in the semi-circular parking area by the Fire House at the end of Emmet Place.
