Metropolitan Youth Orchestra auditions

Last night, I attended my daughter's MYO concert at Carnegie Hall.  Yes, THE Carnegie Hall.  She is a member of the Nassau Treble choir.  The concert also included appearances by Nassau and Suffolk string and concert orchestras.  While the level of talent of these young people is astounding, but is equally impressive is the talent and dedication of their respective conductors who enable them to reach their individual and group potential - to the extent that they sound, well, professional.

As Mr. Craig Knapp offered during the performance last night, musical education is rightly an very important part of every child's education.  Auditions for MYO will be held on May 11, 2013 at Herricks High School.  The treble choir members are children entering grades 4-6.  Audition fee is $20.  Go to myo.org to register for your son/daughter's audition.
