This CAN NOT be true? On the LIPA outage map they currently state : 'Please note that impacted customers in the areas of the Rockaway Peninsula, Long Beach, Atlantic Beach, and Fire Island are no longer reflected on the outage map or in the total number of outages shown.' Nice. SO they can claim that they're getting a higher % up by simply ELIMINATING the hardest hit areas in its doctored math? God Bless the forgotten souls on the South Shore.

Stacey, I know power was restored to many in the Estates section yesterday. The eastern section seemed to be the hardest hit. LIPA is still estimating that they'll have 90% of power restored by Wednesday.

We live in the forgotten cul de sac off of Old Country Road and Rockaway (Sandy Court) that seems to be always last in receiving any Village Services. We have not seen a single LIPA employee since the Hurricane. We have a broken electrical pole with a dangling transformer and there is no way that this will be fixed by Wednesday. So I dont believe LIPA at all. WIll we have power by Thanksgiving?

Hmmm, the new coverage map SUCKS. You think maybe they are hiding something? http://www.lipower.org/stormcenter/outagemap.html Still no power in my area of Mott.

It seems I have to eat my words (but I dont mind) LIPA must be commended for showing up this afternoon in full force in our area. They have replaced the broken pole, and transformer, removed the tree that had felled power lines and have shone a promising ray of light (no pun intended) towards their goal to have all of Garden City with power by the end of tomorrow Wednesday November 7.
