WPOA Nominating Committee Selects Trustee Robert Bolebruch

Long time village resident began serving as village trustee in April 2013.

The Nominating Committee of the Western Property Owners' Association (WPOA) will nominate current trustee Robert Bolebruch as the western section candidate in the March village-wide general election during its annual residents' electors meeting Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Western section residents will vote on the committee's nomination at the meeting, which will be held at Homestead School beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Bolebruch has been a long-time volunteer with the WPOA, the Garden City Athletic Association and the Garden City Scholarship Committee. A resident of Garden City for 19 years, he has been a member of the WPOA since 1995; was a director for 10 years and served as president for two years. He returned to the WPOA Board of Directors two years ago and served as Membership chairman. He served as a director (9 years) and as president (3 years) of the Garden City High School Scholarship Committee, according to a WPOA press release.

Bolebruch has also coached boys basketball and baseball and girls softball teams; served as a GCAA director for 14 years; established the GCAA Field Hockey Clinic and was president of the GCAA Softball League.

Prior to becoming a village trustee in April 2013, he was appointed by former mayor Donald Brudie as a member of the Village Board of Commissioners of Cultural and Recreational Affairs.

A graduate of SUNY New Paltz with a Bachelor's degree in economics/business, Bolebruch has been employed in the securities industry since 1987 and is currently branch manager at American Portfolios.

A guest speaker is also expected to address issues affecting the village and its residents at the meeting.

The WPOA has begun its 2014 membership drive for the calendar year, Jan. 1 through Dec. 31. Dues may be paid at the January 21 meeting, or the form can be printed from the WPOA website, gcwpoa.com, and sent via mail.

The western section of Garden City is bordered on the north by the main line of the LIRR, on the east by the west side of Tanners Pond and Edgemere Roads, on the south by Cambridge Avenue and on the west by Jefferson Street. Visit
