Journal Ads, Tickets Still Available for Pineapple Ball

The eleventh annual gala event takes place Friday, April 19.

The 2013 Pineapple Ball is taking place nearly a month earlier than usual so the countdown is on to boost lagging ticket sales and Journal ad purchases.

The eleventh annual event takes place Friday, April 19. Though 200+ tickets have already been sold the Garden City Hotel's grand ballroom can typically hold 500.

This year's gala event will honor:

Said John Wilton, chair of the Merchant, Professional and Retailers Group, "Our Journal is moving along but if anybody has anybody in the community - children that have gone through the process and have been educated and have gotten scholarships, things of that nature, and anyone who has had their children go to the Jay Gallagher tournament, anyone who would like to facilitate taking out a journal to recognize these truly devoted people who have sacrificed a great deal for the benefit of our student athletes would be most appreciated."
