Project Hope Counselors Coming to Garden City Library

Counselors will provide emotional support as well as reference information for those seeking ongoing support in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.

Project Hope counselors will be available on the lower level of the Garden City Public Library Thursday, March 28, from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Project Hope is a not-for-profit, non-soliciting agency established through a FEMA grant for New York State, to be implemented locally to assist persons affected by Super Storm Sandy.

Project Hope counselors serve to provide emotional support as well as reference information for those seeking ongoing support in the aftermath of the storm. While some people have experienced serious devastation by the storm, suffering loss of homes and personal property, many Long Islanders continue to struggle with the emotional stress and practical responsibilities of reclaiming their lives after Super Storm Sandy.

Project Hope representatives will describe the many services available, including mental health counseling, help completing Sandy assistance forms, emergency financial assistance, and other referrals. No registration is required.
