Christmastime at the Garden City Historical Society

Red candles glowed, holiday tunes sprang from the recently-donated Grand Piano and festive cookies were set out for guests.

The Garden City Historical Society celebrated Christmas with a party at its Museum on Eleventh Street.

Red candles glowed, holiday tunes sprang from the recently-donated Grand Piano—thanks to the talented fingers of Society member George Efthimiou—and festive cookies were set out for guests who shared the camaraderie of the season.

Many of the decorations, from delicate glass ornaments on the tree to a vintage doll stroller set by the fireplace, share the Victorian spirit of this 1872 building.

Residents and neighbors are encouraged to drop in at the museum for a nostalgic visit to the turn of the Twentieth Century. During the holiday season, call the A.T. Stewart Exchange (746-8900) to find out if a volunteer is available to bring you to the museum floor.
