Library Friends Sponsor Free Lecture & Display on Depression Era Glass

Friends of the Library will sponsor a FREE lecture “The History of Depression Era Glass” with Rosemary Trietsch on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Garden City Public Library located at 60 Seventh St., Garden City, NY. Following the lecture, attendees are invited to bring ONE glass item for indetification. A coordinated showcase display will be on view for the month of June during regular library hours. Depression glass is machine produced and made in America from the mid 1920’s through the 1930’s. Learn about the history, methods, and companies of production, types of glass produced, and reproductions in the market today. Examples of glass from the Depression era will be used as an educational tool.
