Last Minute Reservations: A Day at the Races
Garden City Chamber of Commerce Foundation provides scholarships for Garden City High School students with monies raised at this annual event.
The Garden City Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s “Day at the Races” at Belmont Park is set for Saturday, Sept. 14.
At noon, race sponsors and guests will enjoy a buffet luncheon in the private Belmont Room. Post time is 1 p.m. with races continuing throughout the afternoon.
This event benefits the Foundation, which provides annual scholarships for deserving Garden City High School students and assists community members in need.
Since its incorporation in 2003, the Foundation has expended $18,000 in financial assistance to Garden City families facing financial hardships and $26,000 toward scholarships, according to chamber officials.
For last minute reservations up until Thursday at noon, call the chamber at 746-7724, ext. 102. Tickets are $75 each.
