Born in Mineola, NY to Edward and Theresa Karsch, Wilson worked for Bell Atlantic after graduating from Sewanhaka High School. She took a leave to stay home with her four children and re-entered the work force working for the Garden City Public School District, first in their administrative department and then at Straford Avenue School, as a secretary.

A career change led her to Verizon where she worked as an operator until her retirement. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed various outdoor activities.

She is survived by her beloved children Karen Stadtlander (Tom), William (Kathleen), Bonnie Martin (Bill) and Deborah Putnam (Matt) and 10 loving grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Edward, Robert and Dorothy Pedersn.

A wake was held at the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home in Montclair NJ on Sunday followed by a prayer service.

just reading Jane Goodall with my son for school and came across this quote of an amazing womanRead More "every individual matters, every individual has a role to play, every individual makes a difference." that is what makes our nation, our village so great everyone has an opinion whether we agree with it or not. It just saddens me to think some may not voice their opinion in the future because of the rather harsh comments which I'm sure were just meant to get a point across rather than be hurtful. Garden City residents are not afraid to get involved, to stand up for what they believe in and I am proud to live here.
