Police: Seventh Street Bank Robber Wanted For Three Others

A man who robbed a Garden City bank Dec. 13 is wanted in connection with three others this month in Nassau County, police said.

According to detectives, a man presented a demand note to a teller at Capital One Bank on Seventh Street at 10:07 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13. The man obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled eastbound on Seventh Street, police reported.

There were five employees and nine customers in the bank at the time of the robbery, cops said. None of them were reportedly injured.

The subject is described as a black male in his 40s, about six feet tall and 200 pounds, wearing a red hoodie and two-tone jacket and carrying a bag that appeared to be for a laptop over his shoulder.

Police believe this same man is responsible for three more bank robberies this month:

  • Dec. 4, TD Bank located at 275 West Merrick Road in Valley Stream at 11:10 a.m.
  • Dec. 10, Dime Savings Bank located at 175 West Merrick Road in Valley Stream at 9:39 a.m.
  • Dec. 13, Capital One Bank located at 356 North Central Avenue in Valley Stream at 1:05 p.m.

During each robbery, the suspect waited on line pretending to be a customer, approached the teller and presented a demand note. He fled the scene on foot in each case, according to police.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
