Accident Downs Light Pole
Police and fire personnel respond to overturned vehicle on grass area on east side of Clinton Road.
The Garden City fire and police departments responded to an auto accident Wednesday morning involving an overturned vehicle on the grass area on the east side of Clinton Road, south of Old Country Road.
The occupant of the vehicle was removed prior to the fire department's arrival, according to Fire Lt. Peter Clancy. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle while police personnel contacted the village's Streets Department to correct a downed light pole. Village personnel secured power to pole and removed the same, Lt. Clancy said, while the fire department stood by until the vehicle was removed by an authorized tow.
