Car Struck Going Through Intersection Catches Fire

Firefighters responded to a car fire at the intersection of Stewart Avenue and New Hyde Park Road.

Garden City firefighters responded to a car fire Jan. 19 at 8:20 a.m. after a vehicle was struck going through the intersection of Stewart Avenue and New Hyde Park Road.

According to the fire department, the vehicle ended up on a residential lawn on the southeast corner. There were no aided, except for one of Garden City's new trees, which didn't make it.
