Cops: 2 Charged in Garden City Burglary

Two peered down driveways and tried to get into a house through a window, police said.

Two men face burglary charges after a detective saw them peering into several homes and tried to climb through a window Tuesday, reported Nassau County Police.

Cops said a Garden City Police Department detective was on an assigned burglary patrol at 2:45 a.m. when he saw two men walking on Clinton Road into Garden City.

The two turned onto Locust Street and as they passed several houses, looked down each driveway, police said. The two then walked into a front yard of one of the homes and tried to get into the house through a window, cops said.

Cops charged Mario Morales, 19, and William Nieto, 17, both of Hempstead, with second degree burglary. Both will be arraigned
